Year 4 students celebrated Amharic Literature and Cultural Day beautifully and colorfully by dressing in different cultural attire and presenting a variety of songs, traditional foods, and literary performances from different cultures. The celebration provided students with a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the richness of Amharic literature, language, and cultural diversity joyfully and engagingly.

Our Primary students celebrated Unity Day in a colorful and vibrant way by dressing in their favorite cultural attire. The celebration was filled with joy, diversity, and appreciation for the different cultures. We are proud of our students for embracing the spirit of unity, respect, and togetherness throughout the event.

Lower Secondary students participated in the Third Annual Science Fair hosted by Maarif International School and were proudly recognized among the participating schools.

Our students demonstrated creativity, teamwork, confidence, and excellent problem-solving skills throughout the competition, representing One Planet International School with great enthusiasm. This achievement reflects the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers, and the continued support of our parents.

Our Early Years students celebrated Career Day very colorfully by dressing up in their favorite career costumes and joyfully sharing their dreams and aspirations.

The event was filled with creativity, excitement, and confidence as the children proudly represented different professions. We are very proud of our young learners for making the celebration so memorable and inspiring.

There are moments in a school community that remind us of the true purpose of education—moments when compassion is transformed into action. At One Planet International School, social action is an integral part of our culture, teaching students to create meaningful impact beyond the classroom.

This year, as part of the 20th Anniversary Celebration, the Environmental Stewardship Project focused on Beshale Primary School, where more than 1,600 members of the school community faced challenges accessing clean water. Through the dedication and generosity of the One Planet community, a successful fundraising effort made it possible to drill a water well that now provides a reliable source of clean water for more than 1,600 people in the school community.

The official inauguration, held today, Friday, May 8, was attended by distinguished guests from the Lemi Kura Sub-City Administration, including representatives from the Head of the Education Office for Lemi Kura Sub-City, Woreda 8. In their congratulatory remarks, they thanked One Planet International School for the positive impact it has brought to students and the surrounding community.

More than a project, the water well stands as a symbol of unity, service, and the power of education to transform lives.

Our primary students recently had a delightful and educational celebration in honor of the Wright Brothers, pioneers of aviation. To mark the occasion, students came to school dressed as pilots, proudly wearing creative outfits that brought the spirit of early flight to life.

Through this activity, students not only had fun but also learned about the remarkable achievements and perseverance of the Wright Brothers, inspiring curiosity and imagination about the world of flight.

It was a joyful experience for all, and we truly appreciate your support in making such learning moments memorable for our students.

Year 10 students recently visited the Science Museum as part of their learning experience. The visit provided them with a valuable opportunity to explore scientific concepts beyond the classroom, engage with interactive exhibits, and deepen their understanding through hands-on learning.

Our students gained meaningful insights and showed great curiosity throughout the visit, making it both an enjoyable and enriching experience.

One Planet International School proudly celebrated its 20th Anniversary at the magnificent AU Hall—a remarkable milestone filled with pride and gratitude.

Two decades ago, the school began its journey guided by the vision, “Every child is potentially the light of the world.” Today, seeing that vision flourish and positively impact countless lives stands as one of the greatest achievements of the One Planet community. The energy and spirit of the celebration truly reflected all that One Planet represents.

The school was honored to welcome a diverse and distinguished gathering, including students, parents, teachers, educationalists, alumni, former ministers, government officials, ambassadors, members of the media, as well as friends and family. Their presence made the occasion deeply meaningful, highlighting the shared journey and collective spirit of the One Planet family.

A particularly memorable moment of the day was the engaging discussion between former and current students, who thoughtfully explored the enduring relevance of education, the power of social action, and the importance of community building. Their insights beautifully demonstrated the values that the school strives to nurture every day.

The celebration also featured the inauguration of The Light of the World, a book that reflects the journey behind the establishment and growth of One Planet International School written by the founder and CEO, Mr. Zelalem Amare—capturing the inspirations, challenges, and milestones along the way, with the hope of inspiring others.

From its humble beginnings in 2006 with just over 30 kindergarten students to the vibrant institution it is today, this milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering support, dedication, and belief of the entire One Planet community.

Our school held an inspiring term reflection meeting that engaged all the teachers, department coordinators, and management staff.

To foster learning and capacity building, one of the methodologies of the school learning cycle framework—Planning, Action, Reflection, and Learning—helps our teaching staff and management to celebrate the accomplishment of the first term, to comprehend the importance of planning and carrying out and reflecting on past challenges so that we can take learning for future action.

We all have learned valuable lessons from these reflection sessions and made a plan accordingly to continue the second term.

Year 4 students brought the magic of the holiday to life in their English class by presenting handmade creations of their favorite holiday-themed characters. The classroom was filled with excitement as students proudly showcased their unique works of art, blending creativity and storytelling with the festive spirit.

During the class, the students eagerly presented their handmade creations, which ranged from adorable elves and enchanting snow fairies to heroic reindeer and jolly Santa-inspired figures.

It was a heartwarming experience of creativity and collaboration, as students not only enhanced their artistic and narrative skills but also immersed themselves in the joy and wonder of the holiday season.
