Planning, Action, Reflection, and Learning

Our school held an inspiring term reflection meeting that engaged all the teachers, department coordinators, and management staff.

To foster learning and capacity building, one of the methodologies of the school learning cycle framework—Planning, Action, Reflection, and Learning—helps our teaching staff and management to celebrate the accomplishment of the first term, to comprehend the importance of planning and carrying out and reflecting on past challenges so that we can take learning for future action.

We all have learned valuable lessons from these reflection sessions and made a plan accordingly to continue the second term.

Fiction & Fantasy

Year 4 students brought the magic of the holiday to life in their English class by presenting handmade creations of their favorite holiday-themed characters. The classroom was filled with excitement as students proudly showcased their unique works of art, blending creativity and storytelling with the festive spirit.

During the class, the students eagerly presented their handmade creations, which ranged from adorable elves and enchanting snow fairies to heroic reindeer and jolly Santa-inspired figures.

It was a heartwarming experience of creativity and collaboration, as students not only enhanced their artistic and narrative skills but also immersed themselves in the joy and wonder of the holiday season.

Empowered to Lead

Our administrative staff participated in a training session on Purposeful Leadership yesterday, conducted by an esteemed expert in the field of leadership, Mr. Mengistu Weldemariam. The training included a comprehensive presentation on the principles of purposeful leadership and its role in enhancing our day-to-day leadership.

Additionally, the session featured a group activity that encouraged collaboration and practical application of the concepts discussed. This training is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that our team continues to grow and lead purposefully, benefiting our school community.

We would like to thank Mr. Mengistu Weldemariam for his willingness to dedicate his time and share his intensive experiences with our staff.

Unity Day

We celebrated Unity Day at our School, an event that beautifully reflected the diverse yet harmonious spirit of our community. The day was filled with vibrant colors and joyful expressions of culture as students and staff members came dressed in traditional attire, showcasing the rich heritage we all share and respect.

A highlight of the celebration was the graduating class’s presentation of traditional dances. Their performance was a stunning display of cultural diversity, creativity, and togetherness, symbolizing the core values of Unity Day. The students brought to life dances representing various traditions, reminding us of the beauty in our differences and the strength in our unity.

We are grateful for the enthusiasm and participation of everyone who made this celebration special. Unity Day serves as a reminder that we are stronger together and that our shared values can bring us closer, despite our diverse backgrounds.

Thank you for your continued support in nurturing such an inclusive and vibrant school community.

We wish you to have a joyful and meaningful break season!

A Day of Learning

We held an impactful professional development session for all staff members. Thoughtfully organized, the session grouped staff into smaller teams to ensure interactive and focused learning experiences. Throughout the day, we covered a range of essential topics that contributed to the holistic growth of our team, including the Cambridge Teacher Standards & Exam Preparation, Communication & the Use of Virtuous Language, Safety & First Aid, and Environmental Awareness.

The highlight of the day was a First Aid Training session led by experts from the Washington Medical Center. This specialized training equipped staff members with vital life-saving skills, including responding to common injuries, administering CPR, and handling emergencies such as choking or fainting. The hands-on nature of the training empowered participants to act confidently and effectively in critical situations, enhancing the school’s overall safety preparedness.

Today’s training reflects our effort to foster a nurturing and professional environment. By equipping our staff with these critical skills, we ensure they are prepared to inspire, protect, and guide our students toward holistic success.

We would like to thank the American Medical Center for their dedication and willingness to provide professional services to our school staff!

One Planet International and ICS Addis Ababa

Our Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Teams recently competed against the International Community School (ICS) Addis Ababa in an exciting series of games. Both teams demonstrated outstanding teamwork, skill, and determination, making our school immensely proud.

The games were highly competitive, featuring moments of brilliance and resilience from our players. While the final scores highlighted the competitive nature of both teams, the event truly reflected the values of sportsmanship and camaraderie that we strive to instill in our students.

Thank you for your continued support in encouraging our young athletes to grow, learn, and excel.

Turning Pages Together

The Virtues Department, Junior Youth Program, and Social Action Divisions donated over 300 books to Beshale Primary School.

These books were collected through a highly successful book drive organized by our school community, exemplifying the generosity and service we aim to nurture in our students.

This contribution is part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the Social Action Project, which established a library at Beshale Primary School to inspire a love for reading and provide students with valuable learning resources. The donated books will enhance the library, creating a dynamic space for exploration, inspiration, and growth.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in the book drive. Your support has enabled us to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the students of Beshale Primary School, while fostering a culture of learning and service within and beyond our school community.

Environmental Panel Discussion

We are pleased to share that representatives from our school’s Environmental Club participated in a panel discussion entitled “Environmental Justice” on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Hilton Hotel. This remarkable event brought together delegates from various schools, NGOs, and embassies, providing our students with a valuable opportunity to engage and share insights on critical environmental issues.

The event was organized by one of our esteemed school partners, Nature Lovers of Ethiopia, led by Leilina Hailu, a student who serves as its Founder and CEO. We are proud of our students for their active participation and commend Nature Lovers of Ethiopia for this inspiring initiative.

Thank you for your continued support in nurturing young citizens who care for our planet.

Virtue in Action

Our students, organized by the Virtue Department, made a heartfelt visit to the Love for Children & Mothers Organization. They had the opportunity to engage with the children at the center, offering not only their time and kindness but also much-needed donations of clothing and food items.

This visit was a deeply meaningful experience, allowing our students to embody the values of compassion, generosity, and service. Witnessing the impact of their contributions firsthand reinforced the importance of giving and the joy that comes from helping others.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our students and parents for their support in making this initiative possible. Your encouragement and contributions continue to strengthen our efforts to foster empathy and social responsibility within our school community.
