One Planet’s Covid-19 Response Team is led by the school’s nurse, Miss Rahel Ambechew, and is supported by the school’s administration with the advisory support of a parent who is a medical doctor. The team has a critical role to play in making sure the school is safe. Therefore, it has prepared Covid-19 guidelines, overseen the disinfection of the school, met regularly with its advisor, and implemented Covid-19 safety measures such as frequent hand-washing for 20 seconds, wearing face-masks, physical distancing and effectively using student safety packs. They have also prepared an isolation room, provided support for a families affected by Covid-19, created awareness about Covid-19 prevention for teachers and students, displayed posters to help prevent transmission, measured the temperatures of those entering the compound, prepared protective clothes for cleaning staff, provided sanitisers for classrooms, made regular classroom checks, sent teachers and students home who are not feeling well and organised stocks of sanitizer, alcohol, and cleaning materials.
